Elderly Affairs Committee's health workshop addresses 'Memory Disorders' on Tuesday, April 10

Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee (EAC) has scheduled several events during April for Miami Lakes senior citizens.

Tuesday, April 10, 11 a.m. to noon – Mount Sinai Medical Center presents “Risk Factors for Memory Disorders and Alzheimer’s Disease Workshop.” EAC’s fifth health workshop will feature guest speaker Dr. Maria Greig-Gusto, house physician for the Wien Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorder Clinic, and supervisor of the day-to-day research operation of the Florida ADRC.

The workshop will be held in Town Hall Council Chambers, 6601 Main Street. A light lunch will be served sponsored by Mount Sinai Medical Center. Interested attendees are asked to reserve by April 9 with Nathalie Garcia at 305-364-6100, or email at garcian@miamilakes-fl.gov.

Wednesdays, April 11 and April 25, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Lunch Bunch and Bingo, at Mary Collins Community Center, 115151 N.W. 82 Avenue. An opportunity to socialize and make new friends while having fun and enjoying nutritious lunches provided by Giardino Gourmet Salads.

Monday, April 16, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Senior Games Bridge Tournament. Players in the 12th annual Senior Games tournament will receive a snazzy t-shirt and medals will be awarded to winners at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
