Miami Lakes Mayor Wayne Slaton joined Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Miami-Dade Commission chairwoman Rebeca Sosa, and the Beacon Council in recognizing one of Miami Lakes’ local businesses, Cotral Lab.

Cotral is a France-based manufacturer of customized hearing protection devices. Twenty years of expertise in hearing heath, and the number one manufacturer of Customized Hearing Protections in Europe, Cotral Lab’s new Miami Lakes location is their first in the United States.

The implementation of the headquarters in Miami Lakes will add 15 jobs and $800,000 in capital investment within three years. The company makes molded hearing protection to prevent potential hearing loss caused by working in industrial plants.

With a presence in the U.S., France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland, Australia, and Finland, Cotral Lab has equipped more than 1.5 million employees in more than 21,800 companies around the world.

“We are very proud and honored to receive a Key to the Town of Miami Lakes,” said Ricardo Allamelou, Cotral’s International Business Development manager.

“This is a great opportunity for us to renew our commitment of creating jobs in the region and generate value while we carry out our mission to preserve the health of people exposed to occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Thank you for trusting Cotral Lab and for allowing us to be a part of this great community.”

“We are proud to welcome Cotral Lab’s headquarters to Miami Lakes and we applaud their efforts to positively contribute to our town’s economic development,” said Slaton.
