A fast-casual gourmet burger restaurant
has opened in downtown Miami Lakes, and it doesn’t just cater to carnivores.
BURGERIM, at 6704 Main St., began serving diners on April 15.
The launch at this location near the landmark blue fountain was delayed for almost two years because of the pandemic and other factors.
But that’s ancient history.
“I always thought Main Street was really nice,” said Bilal H. Turner-Shabazz, owner and manager of BURGERIM. “I always said if I’d open a business, I would do it here. It’s a beautiful area.”
The restaurant name is from Hebrew, meaning many burgers.
It offers five kinds of protein in several sizes -- 1/3 or 1⁄4 pounds or 3 ounces.
Diners at BURGERIM have many options.
There are eight signature burgers and the names hint at the preparation and top- pings: Angus beef, Spanish beef, Dry-aged beef, Greek lamb, Grilled chicken, Crispy chicken, Hawaiian Salmon and Falafel.
Burgers can be served on a gluten-free bun or in a lettuce wrap.
Burgers may be ordered as a meal with a soft drink and fries, or instead of fries, onion rings or sweet potato fries.
“We have something for everybody,” said Turner-Shabazz. “Whether you’re on [the] Keto [diet] or if you’re a vegetarian, you will find something here.”
The Family Box ($34.99) is filled with eight 3-ounce burgers, 8 wings, fries and rings and is good for sharing, as is the
Party Box, ($44.99) with 16 3-ounce burgers and up to four types of patties.
All burgers come with tomato, lettuce, shaved onions, pickles, American cheese and house sauce.
Additional toppings include bacon, avocado, fried egg, pineapple, jalapenos and sauteed onions and mushrooms, for an extra .79.
Also available are chicken wings and strips three ways: Buffalo, BBQ or Sweet Crunchy Chili Garlic Sauce.
If you still have room, milkshake flavors are cookies and cream, vanilla and strawberry.
There is a kids meal and fresh salad on the menu, too.
BURGERIM is open daily: Sunday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
