G&I Medical Research Center, newly located at 16371 N.W. 67 Avenue in the Windmill Gate Shopping Center, is a medical research facility that specializes in clinical trials and also offers in-house medical and cosmetic procedures such as facials, botox, varicose vein removal, laser hair removal, and more. The research center opened in fall 2014.
The facility, which holds clinical trials on pharmaceuticals as a final approval process before shipment to pharmacies, is owned by Maria Bou, a seasoned research specialist with 12 years of experience in the industry including previous work as a nurse practitioner.
“We wanted to fill the void for a research facility in Miami Lakes,” said Bou. “Miami Lakes is a prime spot in South Florida.”
Some research trials completed at the center have been done for asthma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, influenza, hypertension and many more conditions.
The portion of the facility that offers medical and cosmetic procedures is called Med Lake Center and Spa. Spa services, esthetician services, and medical services, including lab work, medical exams, worker’s compensation issues, and physical and occupation therapy are all offered.
