Main St. Players set auditions for summer play Men On Boats for May 13-14

The Main Street Players located at 6766 Main Street will hold auditions for the summer production of Men On Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus from May 13-14.
Ten explorers, four boats and one Grand Canyon. Men On Boats is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition when a one-armed captain and a crew of insane yet loyal volunteers set out to chart the course of the Colorado River.
The character breakdown includes:
Powell- one armed leader of the expedition; Dunn- hunter and trapper; Sumner- former soldier, current explorer; Old Shady- Powell’s older brother, Civil War vet; Bradley- lieutenant, manic with youth; O.G.- printer and hunter; Seneca- O.G.’s little brother; Goodman- British, so excited; Hall- mapmaker, old soul; Hawkins- the cook; Tsauwiat- the Ute Chief (doubles with OG); The Bishop- Tsauwiat’s wife (doubles with Seneca) and Mr. Asa– a desert soldier (doubles with Goodman).
(Audition note: The characters in Men On Boats were historically cisgender while males. However, the cast should be made up entirely of racially diverse actors who are female-identifying, trans-identifying, gender-fluid and/or non-gender-conforming.)

Auditions will take place May 13-14, from 7 to 10 p.m. Callbacks will take place on May 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street in Miami Lakes.
