Main Street Players opens 2019 New Play competition

The Main Street Players (MSP) located at 6766 Main Street announced its 2019 New Play Competition. As part of its mission, the theatre group wants to support local playwrights and bring new plays to the South Florida theatre community.
The winning submission will be presented as a staged reading as part of the South Florida Theatre Fest. Since MSP produces its plays in an intimate black box theater, organizers suggest the following for all submissions:
• 4-7 characters desired, but there is flexibility. 
• A unified set or limited set requirements.
• A running time of approximately 90-120 minutes.
• All genres are welcomed.
Submit plays to MSP board member Chris D'Angelo at chdangelo@gmail.com or mail a copy to Main Street Players, c/o Chris D'Angelo, 6766 Main Street, Miami Lakes, FL 33014. The deadline for submission is April 30.
