Main Street Players present RACE starting on Friday, February 22

The Main Street Players will present David Mamet’s RACE, directed by Lowell Williams, opening on Friday, February 22 and running through March 17 at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street in Miami Lakes.
The show explores the subject that people can’t stop talking about in America. Race, gender, sex and the criminal justice system collide in this riveting play. A firm made up of three lawyers, two black and one white, is offered the chance to defend a wealthy white man charged with a crime against a young black woman.
As Mamet himself analyzes, “It is a play about lies,” with crackling dialogue that exposes the lies that people tell each other and themselves. Warning: This play contains strong language and mature subject matter.
Jack Lawson is portrayed by Christopher Dreeson, Henry Borwn is portrayed by Keith Oliver, Charles Strickland is portrayed by Brian McCormack and Susan is portrayed by Trittney Huzzie.
RACE shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students, seniors and military personnel. Theatre League and Industry tickets are $20 with I.D. at the door. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com, or at the door an hour before show time.
