Our Neighborhoods: Lakeway Corporate Center

Business By Alexandra Herrera, Reporter Wednesday, March 15, 2023

In the next series of articles, we’re going to explore the neighborhoods south of Miami Lakes Drive.

In the Lower East Side along Northwest 57th Avenue/Red Road, there are several warehouses.

One of the largest sits on the corner and is home to Mr--Glass Doors & Windows Manufacturing LLC. Its neighbor is the Lakeway Corporate Center

The building that houses Mr–Glass Doors & Windows is owned by an entity called EWA 5770 Miami Lakes Owner LLC. It was built in 1976, and updated in 1977 and 1986, according to the Property Appraisers Office.  Mr – Glass Doors & Windows headquarters and showroom are in Medley.

The Lakeway Corporate Center next door has four large warehouses filled with different industrial businesses.

The center is owned by Seagis Lakeway LLC One Tower Bridge and was built in 1973. The properties are managed by The Easton Group. Lakeway Corporate Center’s large warehouses each hold several businesses inside

Set Aero, which has been in the center for over five years, works on repairing aircraft components.

It’s located on the first block of warehouses within the corporate center on the Northeast corner of Miami Lakes Drive.

David Londono owns the business and lives in town, too. He says his company is in a great location.

“It’s not crowded, it’s not Medley or Hialeah,” Londono said.

He added that it’s also safe, due to its proximity to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Northwest Dade substation across the drive.

“It’s not fully industrial, so it has a good feel to it,” Londono said about the neighborhood.

While the company doesn’t do work with nearby Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, it’s still a prime address.

“Employees love the location, it’s not the same as coming to [work in] Miami Lakes or Medley,” Londono said.

Also within Lakeway Corporate Center are Conquest Air Cargo; Suncon, Inc., a general contractor; Vanlex clothing screen-printing; Texene LLC, textile manufacturer and DTS Direct Mail/Fulfillment
