Carolina Ferreiro-Diaz, president of Pharma Natural, Inc. in Miami Lakes, wanted to give back to her community during the coronavirus pandemic.
“I wanted to pay it forward and help however we can, by keeping our community as safe as possible,” Ferreiro-Diaz said.
Which makes sense, coming from the leader of a wellness company. And she gave back in a big way. The company, which makes dietary and nutritional supplements at 14500 NW 60th Ave., donated 1,000 masks to Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid.
Cid retained 100 of the face coverings for municipal employees and on July 22, gave the remaining 900 masks to Miami-Dade Police at the Northwest District Station at 5975 Miami Lakes Drive East.
Joseph Sosa, the mayor’s assistant and Nancy Rogers, chair of the Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee, delivered the boxes to Maj. Samuel Bronson and Lt. Jorge E. Socarras. “We appreciate you for keeping us in mind,” Bronson said.
