Places everyone! It’s time once again to raise the curtain at the Main Street Playhouse (MSP) located at 6766 Main Street on its youngest performers. MSP believes that the development of theatrical skills is a life-long journey.
The MSP Children’s Theatre Workshop is perfect for the scene-stealing stars and the budding thespians waiting quietly in the wings. Students will sing, dance and act their way into the magical world of theatre, where every day will be filled with music, movement and adventure. The workshop will culminate with an on stage performance for friends and family during the final class session.
MSP teachers are there to provide a program that not only broadens the students’ understanding of content, but also leads them to develop secondary skills that are unique to theatre training, the confidence to speak in front of a group and to engage with peers, the ability to work as a team to solve problems and the skill to examine situations from different angles and perspectives.
The workshop is limited in size offering personal training to all participants from June 10 to June 28, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The workshop fee is $650 and is open to ages 7 -13. Early morning and late afternoon pick-ups are available for an additional fee. The fee includes a camp T-shirt, group photo and a personal headshot.
For more information or to register for the workshop, visit the MSP website at www.mainstreetplayers.com or call the workshop coordinator, Dennis Lyzniak, at 786-395-7296.
