Best Beauty Spot: The Nail Garden, 6612 Main St., Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
Best Health Provider: Specialty Smiles Orthodontics, 16375 NW 67th Ave., Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
Best Professional Service: BankUnited,15201 NW 67th Ave., Miami Lakes, FL. 33014.
Best Fitness/Wellness/Gym: Miami Lakes Athletic Club, 15150 Bull Run Road, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
This is the sixth annual awards, a project of the town and its Economic Development Committee. Several businesses -- The Nail Garden, Specialty Smiles, Miami Lakes Athletic Club, NQC and Casavana Cuban Cuisine -- have won at least once before.
Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to visit local merchants. It kicked off Nov. 26. The Best of Miami Lakes is another way to celebrate small and family-owned businesses that are favorite destinations for Miami Lakers.
