Veterans Day Parade rescheduled to Nov. 15

The 41st Annual Veterans Day Parade in Miami Lakes will follow a new, 8.5 mile route through this year.  Because of the threat from Tropical Storm Depression Eta, the town has moved the event back a week, from its original date of Sunday, Nov. 8 to the new date, Sunday, Nov. 15. Elderly Affairs Committee makes giving fun

It was Halloween Eve when members of the Elderly Affairs Committee donned costumes to give away more than 100 meals from Casavana Cuban Cuisine at the Windmill Gate Shopping Center to seniors in town. After the coronavirus shut down the committee’s weekly “bingo and lunch bunch” meetings, Committee Chair Dottie Wix organized weekly food distributions for those who can drive and pick up.
