Senior Games continue with softball match on Feb. 10

  Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee will continue its 10th annual Senior Games Series with a Softball game starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 N.W. 162 Street. The Senior Games are open to seniors ages 50 and up. Future games include: Track & Field Events on April 9, a Bridge Tournament on June 6, and a Basketball Game on August 27.   Miami Lakes was awarded $85,000 to use toward its Greenways and Trails project running along N.W. 77 Court as part of the 2015 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) cycle. Elevate Church of Miami Lakes, 6250 Miami Lakes Drive., hosted a free family friendly New Year’s Day event from 1 to 5 p.m. featuring music, games, carnival rides, crafts, face painting, food, bounce houses and prizes. The church hopes to give back to the community with events such as the New Year’s Family Fest. Pictured are the volunteers who contibuted to making the event successful.
