Town hosts Thanksgiving shoe drive on Nov. 9

  The Town of Miami Lakes has partnered with Loving Soles in an effort to collect shoes for the needy in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The local charity dedicated to providing shoes to Miami's homeless, founded by Tony Garcia, Dr. Daryl Gershbein, Dr. John McGoohan, and Ileana McGoohan's teenage children, will donate gently worn shoes to Camillus House and Catholic Charities.   The Band Stand and Co’s Vocal Group celebrated its first year with a performance in Disney’s Marketplace after an audition process in June. Disney cast members were impressed with the quality of the performance considering the average young age of the group’s members.
