Road work in Business Park West

    Drivers who travel on Commerce Way and Oak Lane in Miami Lakes know how those streets flood after storms.

    To alleviate the high water, the town is installing new drainage systems in Business Park West. Work was set to begin Nov. 1 along Commerce Way.

     Road construction will continue on the streets marked in red in the map. It is scheduled to end in August 2024.

     Costs are $2.8 million, funded by stormwater utility system revenue bonds, the town said.

     Residents in communities at the west end of Commerce Way and students, employees and customers of the many schools and companies in the area should be able to get where they need to go, though detours will be in effect.
