Mater Academy’s STEM students recently took home first place in the second annual Miami Heat STEM Challenge Day, which took place at the American Airlines Arena. The students’ winning project was building a robot which can dribble a basketball the most times in one minute. The Lionbots rose to the challenge and out dueled a host of middle schools from Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
