     Mater Lakes Academy’s Mock Trial team placed 5th in the High School Mock Trial Competition held March 31 – April 3 at the Justice Teaching Center at Florida Southern College in Lakeland.  They argued a civil lawsuit about whether environmental damage to a wildlife preserve was caused by farm fertilizer that may have ended up in a river shared by both parties. Bob Graham Education Center’s Robocats won 1st Place at the Middle School VEX IQ competition held at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition. Lawton Chiles Middle School student Vida Marrero placed 1st in the 2022 Homeless Trust’s Sensitivity Poster and Essay Contest.
