Burger King Foundation awards scholarships to five students at Miami Lakes Educational Center

The Burger King Foundation awarded 180 scholarships in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, including to five students at Miami Lakes Educational Center.
Seniors Reahana Joseph; Latrice Shakes; Danielle Cohen Mantilla; D’Avora Willaims and Jae’la Rainey each received $1,000 for their post-secondary education on April 28.
Reahana plans to major in biomedical sciences at the University of South Florida; Latrice will study psychology at Barry University; Danielle will attend Florida State University and plans to study nursing; D’Avora will study writing at Hamilton College and Jae’la will study nursing at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College.
The foundation website listed grade point average, work experience, extracurricular activities financial need and community service as factors to win scholarships that may be used for college, vocational or technical school.
