Miami Lakes to hold virtual public meetings

The town of Miami Lakes will continue to hold municipal meetings during the coronavirus pandemic. In an effort to keep the virus from spreading in the community, town hall will remain closed. Meetings of the council, planning and zoning board and a workshop on town investments will all be livestreamed and available to watch on social media and the town website. Cystic Fibrosis Walk canceled

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has postponed its Great Strides Miami Lakes Walk.
It previously was scheduled for April 18 at Graham Park and may be scheduled for this autumn.

The foundation cited the coronavirus outbreak as the reason for the change.

To welcome prospective fifth graders to Miami Lakes Middle School, students and staff hosted their very first color run. The purpose of the event held in February was to introduce future Warriors and their parents to the school, at 6425 Miami Lakeway North, as well as to its magnet program.
