Town bike ride Feb. 22

The next community bike ride has a love and friendship theme. The town is asking participants to decorate bikes with red and pink gear, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
The Feb. 22 ride begins at Town Hall, 6601 Main St., at 8:30 a.m. Pre-register at www.TOML.eventbrite.com.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High’s marching band needed new instruments. So the school applied to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, established by Michael Kamen. He composed the score for the 1995 film “Mr. Holland’s Opus,” about an inspirational composer turned music teacher.
