Mater Lakes Academy’s FBLA team wins Chapter of the Year at state leadership conference

     The Mater Lakes Academy Future Business Leaders of America team won Chapter of the Year at the Florida FLBA Leadership Conference in Orlando in March for the first time in school history, officials said. Students also won 1st Place in: Digital Video Production by Lauren Canovas, Anthony Martinez and Danielle Upson; Introduction to Public Speaking by Daniella Coromateu; Public Speaking by Natalie Maldonado; Public Service Announcement by Nathalie Gomez and Miranda Placer and Local Chapter Annual Business Report by Daniella Coromateu, Amy Doval and Carlos Salas. The team performed well in 10 other categories such as website design, an enterprise project and client services.

     They will travel to Anaheim, Calif. this summer to compete in the National Leadership Conference, the school said.
