M. Lakes inaugurates new on-demand Sunday bus service

Community Thursday, November 5, 2015

Town of Miami Lakes announced it will begin offering on-demand bus services on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning November 8.

An initiative by Vice Mayor Manny Cid, residents can reserve a Sunday pick up by calling Town Hall during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., as the service requires a call-ahead reservation.

“Earlier this year, I met with several residents at Villas of Miami Lakes who expressed a desire for Sunday on-demand service,” said Cid. “Thanks to their advocacy and hard work, we were able to illustrate that there was a large demand for such service. Town staff worked diligently to restructure our current transportation contracts and add the Sunday route at no extra cost to taxpayers.”

The regular on-demand bus service is free and runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
