  Two Miami Lakes Educational Center students, Mario Font (left) and Michan Walsh, placed among the top 18 students in the recent David Essner Mathematics Competition XXXIII held at the University of Miami. The two are juniors in the Cambridge Academy. A total of 122 students from 25 schools participated in the event.

  In early December, Mater Gardens Academy (MGA) held a "Movie Night Under the Stars" event. Students and their families were invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch “Monster's University” on a large screen in the MGA field.
