Veterans Park pavilion named for Gary Cardenas

   The Town of Miami Lakes honored Gary Cardenas for his years of service to the community by naming a pavilion for him in Veterans Park.      Cardenas, a retired U.S. Army sergeant, lives in Palm Springs North.       He is a school crossing guard in Miami Lakes and is a supervisor in the program.    The 2024 Mayor’s Gala with the theme “Last Night in Paris” brought French flair and black tie to the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main on Sept. 28 and raised $44,612 for the town’s Special Needs Advisory Board.
