Eddie the Spartan, the mascot for Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens, welcomed students Aug. 17 during a car parade that was part of orientation for the new students. Orientation days in previous years would include campus tours and visits to classrooms, but those traditions couldn’t happen during the coronavirus pandemic. Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School welcomed their youngest Cheetahs, PreKindergarten students ages 2, 3 and 4, on Aug. 19.  Faculty and staff cheered arriving students and Father Luis Flores, Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, greeted them as they arrived.
