Pace High's Vanessa Perez-Robles receives Amazon Engineer grant

Pace High School (PACE) senior and Miami Lakes resident Vanessa Perez-Robles has been named one of the first 100 recipients of Amazon’s Future Engineer Scholarship Program. Perez-Robles, who will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall, will receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned. Jose Marti students compete in Odyssey of the Mind

Local 10 is hosting its second annual Earth Day Art contest. The station has received entries from Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties. Lawton Chiles Middle School’s (LCMS) sculpture entry of an endangered Sea Turtle titled “They Matter Too” was selected as one of the top 10 finalists. On March 2, Miami Lakes Middle School's (MLMS) Legal Studies 1 and 3 students participated in a Model United Nations (MUN) Competition at Miami Dade College.The competition was sponsored by Miami-Dade County Public Schools Social Studies department.
