On February 19, Virginia Ladeira (pictured above), fourth grader and Leah Rios (pictured below), seventh grader, participated and represented Miami Lakes K-8 Center (MLK-8) at The Miami Herald Spelling Bee held at The University of Miami. The 79th annual competition included students from Miami-Dade and Monore County schools. Both girls did an outstanding job and experienced what many do not have the opportunity to do.

The Miami Lakes Town Council approved a contract with Lorenzo Cobiella to be the town’s full-time attorney where he will be assigned at town hall assisting the town manager, his staff and council members for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
