Miami Lakes, in partnership with PEAR, will be offering after school care scheduled to begin upon completion next month of the new Youth Center at Miami Lakes East Park, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive east.
The Program in Education, Afterschool & Resiliency (PEAR) is an innovative wellness-based curriculum that educates and equips participants for wellness success and includes activities in the area of Fitness Fun, Team Training, Sports of Sorts, Art Adventures, Performance Play, PEAR Core Values and Simplified Science.
PEAR Plus Academic Assistance will offer time for children to work on their homework and get additional guidance in areas of academic necessity.
The program will run Monday to Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Transportation will be provided from Miami Lakes schools by the program providers.
