BGEC student to perform with All-State Middle School Honors Band

     Sean Velez, an eighth grader at Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes, will represent the school in the Florida All-State Middle School Honors Band. 

     The All-State Middle School Honors Band invites the best students from across the state to perform in January at the Florida Music Educators Association Convention in Tampa. 

      Sean is the principal clarinetist and section leader for the school’s advanced band. He began his musical career in the sixth grade when he played with the drum bucket ensemble. He switched to the wind instrument in seventh grade and began studying with Band Director Carlos Perez, the school said.
