“Lakes Life,” the Town of Miami Lakes’ mobile app, not only keeps residents in the know about current happenings, but also serves as a way to help the Town plan for the future.

“Pedestrian Perspective” is an initiative spearheaded by the Town’s Planning Department to ensure the improvement of transportation infrastructure.

Similar to entering a request using “Lakes Life,” residents can submit their concerns regarding unsafe bike paths, incomplete sidewalks and missing bus stops, among other things. Once in the mobile app, navigate to “New Request” and scroll down to the “Pedestrian Perspective” category to enter the submission. Be sure to turn on “Location Settings” on the mobile device in order to achieve the most accurate reporting.

Input will help Town staff better identify where transportation infrastructure can be improved. Feedback will be recorded and used to update current and future improvement plans.

Staff noted that no immediate action will be taken on information received via the “Pedestrian Perspective,” however, they assure that the information is very valuable to help make better future decisions.
