Community support sought for Bobcat Law Society's 'We the People' competitors

Education Thursday, March 19, 2015

The Graham Companies and Senator Bob and Adele Graham presented a combined contribution of $2,500 to the Bobcat Law Society of Bob Graham Education Center (BGEC) to help the students meet their fundraising goals to attend the “We the People” national competition.

The students, all members of BGEC’s Civic Engagement Academy (CEA), were named State Champions at the recent Florida competition. They now move on to compete at the “We the People” National Invitational in Washington, D.C. in April.

This was the school’s first time participating in the “We the People” competition. The students perfected their arguments and kept up-to-date on current issues to present a winning project under the direction of CEA teachers Jackie Hernandez and Ingy Cruz.

All members of the community are invited to donate to the school’s CEA program to fund students to attend the national competition. Checks can be made payable to The Bobcat Law Society and mailed to 8181 N.W. 154 Street, Suite #280, Miami Lakes, Florida, 33016.
