The office of Jose Orcasita-Ng, M.D. in Hialeah, founded in 1991, received recognition from the National Committee Quality Assurance (NCQA) for being a Patient Centered Medical Home Level 3 with the distinction in patient experience reporting.

Patient Centered Medical Home values the patient as the core of the health care system. A Medical Home is an approach to providing total health care that includes health care professionals, trusted friends and family, but most importantly the patient.

With the patient centered Medical Home, the team listens intently to health questions and keeps track of the patient care in an effort to make any transitions in health care, may it be to other doctors, as seamless as possible.

Additionally, the patient has complete accessibility to their medical records by using the patient portal. The patient is able to view labs, request for refills on medication, view their medical summary and ask non urgent questions to the doctor.

NCQA is a private, non profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance.

“The NCQA patient-centered medical home is a model of the 21st century primary care that combines access, teamwork and technology to deliver quality care and improve health,” said NCQA president Margaret E. O'Kane. “The active, ongoing relationship between a patient and a physician in Medical Homes fosters an all-too-rare goal in care – staying healthy and preventing illness in the first place.”

The office of Dr. Jose Orcasita-Ng worked diligently for a year to transform the health center to a patient centered Medical Home, one that boasts high quality care. As a single private practice, the office is the first to receive this recognition in the Hialeah-Miami Lakes area.

“We are ecstatic to receive the highest level. As a team, the staff worked tremendously hard to transform into the new century of providing better quality care to all of the patients,” said office administrator Beverly Johnson.
