Miami-Dade County School Board chair Perla Tabares Hantman presented Dr. Verena Cabrera, director of the North Region Center, with the “Cervantes Outstanding Educator Award.”
The prestigious award is presented annually by The Fischler School of Education and Human Services, Nova Southeastern University, to educators who have made significant contributions to promote excellence in the education of Hispanic students.
Joining in the presentation was Dr. H. Wells Singleton, Nova Southeastern University Education Provost and University Dean.
