Early voting for general election begins Oct. 19

To vote in Miami-Dade County on Nov. 3rd, you must be 18 and have lived in the county prior to Oct. 5.

     That day is also the deadline to register, whether that’s accomplished online, via mail postmarked Oct. 5 or in person.

To register in person Get an application at the Elections Department; Miami Lakes Public Library; at a Florida driver’s license bureau; county government offices; state public assistance agencies or military recruiting offices.

To register by mail First-time voters in Florida must give the Elections Department a copy of a current and valid photo ID that shows name and current address. Don’t mail original documents.

To register online Voters may submit the registration form electronically or download a copy and mail the original signed form to Supervisor of Elections, P.O. Box 521550, Miami, FL 33152.

To vote-by-mail Request your ballot be mailed to you before the Oct. 24 deadline.

     Fill it out, photograph it, seal it correctly and return it, early. The deadline is 7 p.m. Nov. 3rd. 

     Then verify online that the county elections department has received it.

    A voter may deliver his or her own ballot in person to any early voting location’s secure ballot drop box, or to the Elections Dept., 2700 NW 87th Ave. in Miami.

    Other ballot drop locations are: Stephen P. Clark Center lobby, 111 NW 1st St., Miami; North Dade Regional Library, 2455 NW 183rd St., Miami Gardens; South Dade Regional Library, 10750 SW 211th St., Cutler Bay, by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.

     Assisted living facilities and nursing homes whose residents wish to vote should write to the elections department 21 days prior to Nov. 3.

     The request must list five or more voters to obtain supervised voting.

Early voting In Miami-Dade County, it’s from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Oct. 19 through Nov. 1. There will be polls at the Mary Collins Community Center in

Miami Lakes.
