New Horizon’s Young at Heart is a gathering of the elderly at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 6000 Miami Lakeway North, on the third Tuesday each month. The purpose of the group is to share in fellowship with each other.
The gatherings consist of a luncheon and an activity, event or entertainment. Pastor Jose Alvarez commissioned the Bible Study ministry to support and sponsor the Young at Heart. The two groups work very well together. Young at Heart celebrates all holidays with traditional foods, festivities, and birthdays.
After meeting for years, the monthly gatherings have been archived in ongoing volumes of photo albums. The Young at Heart is composed of all nationalities and ages, ranging from 60 to 95 years old. Bible Study members are all ages as well, and each love to serve in the different capacities of planning the meetings to run smoothly each month.
