Entire JetStream Federal staff achieves certification

JetStream Federal Credit Union achieved its Community Development Certified Financial Counseling (CDCFC) training completion for the entire staff. This training and certification is vital to assist moderate-to-low income populations gain a footing with their finances, bouncing back from life’s changes. JetStream is one of the few credit unions nationwide who have completed this training to serve its membership at every possible touchpoint.

JetStream has become the first financial institution serving both South Florida and Puerto Rico to certify its entire staff in the CDCFC training.

“JetStream is taking its commitment to the next level,” said JetStream president and CEO, Jeanne Kucey. “We’re confident that our efforts toward financial empowerment will result in not only in increased visibility but increased community goodwill and member loyalty.”

With its counseling certification JetStream can help its members with a variety of topics including budgeting, money management, managing debt, credit cards, buying or leasing an automobile, home ownership, and predatory lending.

Kucey adds that 75 percent of JetStream’s members in Miami-Dade County and Puerto Rico reside in low income zip codes.

“We are dedicated to our member’s prosperity and truly committed to identifying and serving the needs of this multi-ethnic population,” said Kucey. “This certification will definitely help us meet that goal.”
