Family Health and Fitness Fair on March 19

Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee and Youth Activities Task Force (YATF) are jointly hosting the Town’s 2nd annual Family Health and Fitness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.

This year, YATF will hold their annual Bike Rodeo in conjunction with the Fitness Fair and included is a community bike ride which will begin and end at the Collins Community Center. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and ride their own bikes if available, but some bikes will be available to rent. To reserve a bike, email solimanh@miamilakes-fl.gov.

The event will include a Health and Fitness Vendor Expo, a variety of health screenings, free flu shots provided by Walgreens, wellness games for kids, a bike raffle, free bicycle helmets and fittings, fingerprint IDs for children, and a bicycle demonstration by the Miami-Dade Pedestrian Unit.

The 2016 Health and Fitness Fair is sponsored by Walgreens, Vitas Healthcare, Palmetto General Hospital, CHEN Medical, MGM Behavioral, Humana, Elite Care at Home, Sapphire AfterLipo Therapy, Body4Yoga, Andy’s Police Supply, Caballero Rivero, Orangetheory Fitness, Bike305, FDOT, Hialeah Gardens Bike Shop, South Florida Commuter Services, BikeSafe, and Miami-Dade County.
