Final weekend for RACE by Main Street Players at the Main St. Playhouse

The Main Street Players are presenting David Mamet’s RACE in its final weekend at the Main Streeet Playhouse located at 6766 Main Street. The show opened on February 22 to enthusiastic audiences and has received critical acclaim from patrons and reviewers alike. Race, gender, sex and the criminal justice system collide in this powerful and riveting play.
A firm made up of three lawyers, two black and one white, is offered the chance to defend a wealthy white man charged with a crime against a young black woman. As Mamet himself analyzes, “It is a play about lies”, with crackling dialogue that exposes the lies that we tell each other and ourselves.
Warning: This play contains strong language and mature subject matter. RACE is directed by Lowell Williams and the production manager is Danny Nieves.
Jack Lawson is portrayed by Christopher Dreeson, Henry Borwn is portrayed by Keith Oliver, Charles Strickland is portrayed by Brian McCormack and Susan is portrayed by Trittney Huzzie.
Remaining show dates for RACE are March 15 and March 16 at 8 p.m. and March 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students, seniors and military personnel. Theatre League and Industry tickets are $20 with I.D. at the door. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com, or at the door an hour before show time.
