A drive-thru free COVID-19 testing site in Miami Lakes continues to screen people wishing to know if they have the virus.
The project, at 7601 Miami Lakes Drive in the parking lot of the former Hotel Indigo, is a partnership between The Graham Companies and Longview Technology Services of Herndon, Va.
The free tests are the PCR nasal swab version. Patients may expect results within 48 hours after couriers deliver samples to labs, Longview Technology Services said.
Appointments are not required. Testing is available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Another free testing site opened Jan. 17 on the west side of town at Royal Oaks Park, 16500 NW 87th Ave.
It provides tests from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is operated by Statlab Mobile.
A company spokesman said the drive-thru site offers nasal PCR swab tests. It is expected to remain open until the end of January and may stay longer depending upon need.
