A chance to see an Eastern Screech Owl, a Brown Pelican and a Virginia Opossum up close will happen at the Mary Collins Community Center on Sept. 23.
The Miami Lakes Garden Club is hosting Sarah Curry of the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station that night.
She’ll talk about the history and mission of the animal rescue and rehabilitation organization and describe the creatures she will bring to the 7 p.m. presentation.
Curry, who is the group’s education and communications coordinator, will also share how the community can protect wildlife.
The Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is a nearly 40-year-old not-for-profit charity that is at 1279 NE 79th St. Causeway in Miami.
The garden club meets the fourth Monday of every month and welcomes everyone to join in their activities.
Mary Collins Community Center is at 15151 NW 82nd Ave. in Miami Lakes.
