The 12th Annual Beacon Awards 2014 has awarded proud restaurateur and CEO of Giraffas USA, Joao Barbosa, for his outstanding dedication and commitment to improving Miami-Dade County's business community. Barbosa was pleased to accept this honor, having been recognized as an industry leader for the restaurant formally known as Giraffas Brazilian Steaks & Burgers.

Giraffas is the third largest chain in Brazil with over 400 locations, and seven locations in Florida with four more opening soon. The newest location is at 9690 N.W. 41 Street in Doral. The restaurant is known for its succulent spices, picanha and maminha cuts of meat, and Brazilian twists on American favorites.

The Beacon Council honors several companies every year for investing and supporting the growth of the economy in Miami-Dade County.

“When I wake up in the morning, I am proud to be a part of Giraffas USA,” said Barbosa in an interview. “We love serving food and opportunity to the people of Miami-Dade County. Receiving a Beacon Award is very humbling.”
