Great Miami Lakes Historical Scavenger Hunt scheduled March 8

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr., the Town of Miami Lakes and Katherine Duarte invite the community to the Great Miami Lakes Historical Scavenger Hunt, a free and fun way for the community to learn more about the history of Miami Lakes. 

The scavenger hunt will take place on Saturday, March 8 at the parking lot behind Shula's hotel at 6842 Main Street. Sign-in will begin at 9 a.m. and events last until 2:30 p.m.

This year, there will be three categories for participants that include individuals that are middle and high school students, families and groups of four, and senior citizens. All participants must register online prior to the scavenger hunt at www.mlhistoryhunt.com.

Participants will have a map with riddles and clues which they will have to solve. The first participant from each category to finish by turning in a completed map, stamped from each station, will receive a grand prize. 

The grand prize for the individual category winner is a "Night Around Town," the grand prize for the groups category is a free one night stay for four at the Radisson Resort in Orlando, and the grand prize for the senior citizen winner is a gift certificate to Shula's 2.

In addition to grand prizes, participants will have many opportunities to win raffles that include one semester of free classes for adults or children at Rhythm and Pitch School of Music and Performing Arts, and gift certificates for Menchie's, On the Border, Papa John's, Ruby Tuesday and more!
