For Hemisphere Title Company President Patricia Gonzalez, the company is like a member of her family, a business she nurtured into what it is today.
“To me, I just thought of it as my third child, you care for it,” Gonzalez, 63, told The Miami Laker. “You bring it to life, and you love it.”
The company marked four decades of success on Aug. 13 with a celebration at its office, in Villaggio in the Lakes Plaza at 5801 NW 151st St.
Tico Casamayor, president of public relations for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce, and Ray Palacios, a member of the Chamber’s Young Professionals Committee, presented a proclamation to Gonzalez and her daughter Natalee Lima, Hemisphere’s vice president, to celebrate their achievement.
Gonzalez has shifted to work part-time as Lima takes the helm.
Mother and daughter live in Miami Lakes with their families; the firm has always been based in town.
Their all-female team provide various services for homebuyers that include making sure a property is free of liens, and look for errors in documentation or outstanding claims or fraudulent activity.
The company also will process documents for a seller if it is representing a buyer.
Gonzalez credits how the staff cares for clients as a reason for the firm’s longevity.
“Customer service,” Gonzalez said. “The priority is the customer.”
Over forty years she has weathered changes in the home real estate market, thanks to relationships built during transactions.
Mother and daughter also say it’s also about being able to adjust to challenges in the industry.
Lima plans to stay responsive to what may come as she steers the business into the future.
“My goal is to just continue its success and … grow [it] to a bigger and successful company so I have something to leave for my kids one day,” Lima said.
