Cesar Odio, Miami Dade College’s winningest men’s basketball head coach, died following a nine-year battle with Leukemia.
He was 58.
Odio died last month surrounded by his family members.
Odio spent seven years as the head coach for MDC, compiling a 128-85 school record.
Odio then became the head coach for Barry University, where he spent the next 17 years, and became the most winningest men’s basketball head coach in school history as well, with a 266-218 record.
In 2013, Odio became the assistant director of athletics for Barry University.
Odio is survived by his wife, Mary Kay, and their children, Emily and Eddie Odio.
