Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy is recognized for its academic achievements, but what it lacked in sports programs is now being remedied with the introduction of sports teams and additional clubs.

Under the direction of Athletics Director Jonathon Milian, Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy is participating in the following middle grade sports for the 2014-2015 school year with intentions of increasing the sports program within the coming years:

Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Girls Volleyball, Boys Volleyball, Swimming, and Wrestling.

The school’s swimming team did exceptionally well at the Youth Fair Meet on October 25 held at the Tamiami Pool. Girls Swimming placed 4th overall and Boys Swimming placed 3rd overall. The school’s cross country girls placed 7th out of 10 teams, and boys cross country placed 9th out of 16 teams for the 305 Classic Middle School Cross Country race on October 15.

At the Sam Burley Foundation Middle School Cross Country Invitational, Boys Varsity placed 8th out of 15 teams and Boys JV placed 11th out of 14 teams. Girls placed 6th out of 10 teams.

The school has also introduced the Art Club, Chi Alpha Mu, Green Club, Key Club, Knights of the Realm Chess Club, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, No Excuses University, Odyssey of the Mind, SECME, Science Club, Spanish Honor Society, Spectrum Club, Student Council, Technology Club, and Women of Tomorrow. The creation of sports teams and clubs adds yet another component of potential excellence for the quickly growing academy.
