Several Miami Lakes area high school athletes were honored with scholarship awards during the recent Scholar-Athlete Luncheon hosted by the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation.
Lauren Book, CEO of the Lauren’s Kids Foundation, served as guest speaker, and her organization presented a $1,000 scholarship to Barbara Goleman bowler Gabriella Sallai.
Hialeah Gardens’ Sebastian Aguilar, who played basketball, volleyball and ran cross-country, received a $2,000 scholarship from the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame.
Arena Advertising and Sports Marketing presented $500 scholarship to two American Senior High athletes – Alyssa Flores (volleyball, basketball and softball), and Jeremiah Dinson (football and track.)
