Miami-Dade County School Board Chair Perla Tabares Hantman, Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho and other education, civic, and community leaders were honored by the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) at an Educational Leadership Awards Luncheon on Saturday, October 25. Honorees at the event were recognized for having made a difference in the lives of Florida bilingual learners and their families. The National Association for Bilingual Education is a non-profit organization working to ensure that language-minority students have equal opportunities to learn English and succeed academically.
