The Main Street Players theatre group has scheduled an audition call for the 2010 Tony-nominated Next Fall, the first production at the Main Street Playhouse in 2014 opening on February 7 and running to March 2.

The show will be directed by Artistic Director Robert Coppel. Audition dates are Sunday and Monday, November 10-11, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street. Callbacks are set for Tuesday, November 12, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Rehearsals start on November 18. Audition participants are asked to prepare a 1-2 minute monologue and be prepared to read from the script. The character breakdown: Adam (40/45), a substitute teacher who dreamed of being a successful writer. A hypochondriac, an atheist...must have good comic timing. Luke (25/30), an aspiring actor, in a relationship in Adam.

A devout Christian with a sensitive soul, but not out to his family. Butch (50’s), a successful business man who lives in Tallahassee. He is charming and charismatic, but definitely set in his ways and a devout fundamentalist Christian.

Arlene (late 40’s/early 50’s), Luke’s mom and Butch’s ex-wife. A wild child who still has some of that Southern wild in her. Holly (30’s), a candle shop owner and best friend to Adam. A real confidante, she is very open-minded and likes to play the role of peacemaker.

Brandon (25/30), a property manager who had a close relationship with Luke before Adam came along. Also a Christian, but questions his beliefs. For more information, call Coppel at 305-823-8548.
