Miami-Dade Fire Rescue holds Medal Day ceremonies

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue recently honored and recognized more than 100 firefighters who performed above and beyond the call of duty during the 14th annual Medal Day at the Miami-Dade Fire Training Facility, 9300 N.W. 41 Street in Doral.

The men and women were recognized in seven different categories, with the highest honor given, the Gold Medal of Valor. 

The second highest honor, the Silver Medal of  Valor, was awarded to MDFR sworn personnel for performing in the presence of personal danger, saving lives, protecting properties, and going above and beyond the call of duty in a job that requires unparalleled bravery each day.

Family members, elected officials, local police and fire chiefs from the entire South Florida attended the event to witness the award ceremony.
