Gabriella Perez-Robles, an 8th-grade student at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School, was honored as one of the February Academic/Sportsmanship Team Players before the February 3 Miami Heat game against the Detroit Pistons at American Airlines Arena.
Each honoree received a Certificate of Achievement, a Heat gift pack, and two Heat tickets. After meeting Heat players Shane Battier, Udonis Haslem, Rashard Lewis, Roger Mason Jr., and Greg Oden, they were recognized on the court before the tipoff.
Perez-Robles maintained straight A’s while playing varsity basketball for the OLL team that finished the season undefeated at 8-0. She also played on the varsity volleyball team, and is an active member in several OLL clubs.
